The housing markets of Rajkot although in their nascent stage hold immense potential of growth. The studio targeted on devising various strategies that will act as catalyst for development of the overall housing markets of Rajkot. The proposal of insitu-upgrade using incremental approach targeted 14% of the population living in substandard conditions below affordability line. The highlight of the proposal was the framework of selection of slum pockets and categorizing them as per their tenability, financial feasibility and vulnerability and accordingly propose relocation, redevelopment or incremental upgrade. Vulnerability was calculated using 3 major indicators housing condition, infrastructure availability, affordability.
