In this project there is a G+8 residential building in zone-4.I have to analyze building with cracked moment of inertia as per new clause introduced in IS-1893 (part 1) : 2016 and do overall compression before and after the application of clause. For application of cracked moment of inertia i have reduced the value of elastic modules in stadd. Cracked cross-section properties in RC structures significantly alters the natural period of the building. The cracked building is more flexible and hence its showed larger displacement values in drift check. Moments distribution in beam decreases and moments distribution in column increases. In column design due to decrease value of P????/(??????????????????????) and increased values of ????????/(??????????????????????^2 ) leads to more flexure behavior of column. Larger sizes of structural members are required. This clause leads to strong column weak beam philosophy.
