Governance for Public Health

Global efforts to combat tuberculosis (TB) have saved an estimated 53 million lives since 2000 and reduced the TB mortality rate by 37%, according to the Global TB Report 2017, released by WHO today. Despite these achievements, the latest picture is grim. TB remains the top infectious killer in 2016.
India, persistently remains to be one of the thirty, high TB burden countries in the world, with Gujarat having high incidences of TB cases, followed by Maharashtra and Kerala (RNTCP report, 2015).

Considering the sensitivity of the health issue the Objective defined is: to conduct a Spatial Surveillance and Vulnerability study for TB, that could act as a Decision Support System for as a surveillance measure for the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) of GOI.
