System finding through Truncated cones

The project started in search of a system, that can be utilized to form an element. The research features a bottom-up design experiment, composed of variable truncated cones. The cones negotiate their parameters with each other by adapting their size, angle, form and position. While maintaining their individual diversity and freedom, the elements cooperate together to achieve common goals such as overall stability, shape, illumination, views and spatial quality. Though every goal was not being possible to achieve every time, but each experiment lead to a new learning to move ahead. The experiments first started with exploration of truncated cones with ‘Polymer’ (light weight rubber sheet) and was later carried on ‘paper’ of 300gsm.Through a series of experiments, the Project reached an outcome of systems, which can be applied to achieve various design solutions. (E.g. Pavilion, canopy, façade, seating etc.)
