Re-looking Toilets

According to a survey by World bank, toilets have added 20 years to the human lifespan over the past two centuries. Poor sanitation causes economic losses associated with the direct costs of treating sanitation-related illnesses and lost income through reduced or lost productivity. One of the major goals of GOI has been achieving improved sanitation in the country through various missions like Swachh Bharat and NGSY. All the ULBs are on a mission to achieve Open Defecation Free (ODF) status by 2019 under Swachh Bharat Mission. 89.89% of ULBs in India were already declared ODF. Now, the major challenge is to sustain it.
Vadodara had been declared ODF in the year 2016. This project deals with various issues and challenges involved in sustaining its ODF status and interventions required to do so.
