Watershed Management Plan for Vishwamitri

Upper catchment of vishwamitri produces approximately 5020 cubic meter runoff per second during peak rainfall which can be prevented from entering the city. Hence upstream influences impact the downstream adversely. The city usually faces a shortage of water in peak summers and flash floods in heavy monsoons. The purview of the following intervention is to reduce the risk of flooding devising a long-term strategy for the catchment of Vishwamitri strategically including the same into legal instruments.
