Re- modelling the Brownfield of Surat- A case of Adajan

The brownfield areas of any city, undergoes continuous transformations along with the expansion of the city. Often, the development authorities do not take the transformations into consideration, as a result of which, these areas become denser and there is a need for intervention in order to avoid negative repercussions. Adajan is a low lying area in Surat with the river Tapi abutting it and is prone to floods and hence as a part of the LAP, flood reduction mechanisms and strategies to optimize the utilization of the river edge are incorporated.
