Present scenario of environmental problems demands sustainable development in any field. Building consumes large amount of energy which effect the environment. The project aims towards the sustainable development of building. Firstly, the methods and tools that give data of climatic conditions of any region are studied. Focus is then laid on concepts of building physics and its application. Prototype of solar cooker is developed to practically understand the building physics concepts. Considering building physics concepts and climatic conditions, passive strategies are adopted accordingly.  Energy simulations are further carried out to study the impact on various strategies on energy consumption.
