In this studio, her starting point was why Ahmedabad has been marked as the first heritage city and what makes it so.
Coming to her own understanding about the subject, The House of MG was picked as the project site.
The idea was to make an outdoor furniture piece that fit in well with the existing aesthetics of the House of MG and also brought in some of the local character of Ahmedabad/ Gujarat to the palette.
The base of the dining table is inspired from that of a rounded cane stool. The dholpuri stone top gives it a balance of traditional and contemporary.
The local art and community inspired form, manipulated in metal provides a new sleek look to a typical traditional item.
A highlight of the design is the user's ease in being able to play with the material for the top.
