Informal or semi-formal spaces on campuses come under the discussion of highly potential domains for inclusive campus planning that lie unattended or get very little attention from access / reuse perspectives in our educational environments. Moreover in reality such spaces are the core for an active academic environment and a vibrant campus social life. These are also the spaces that act as potential nuclei for discussions, congregations and recreational activities making a campus a social microcosm in an urban context.  In an informal space there is no definite path to a user, instead there are the existence of pause points or an “in-between zones”. These “in-between zones” can be strategically incorporated as functions through the use of relaxation points, breakout corners or visually equipping activities or displays. What is desirable in creating these “in-between zones “is ?exibility and congruence between design and function so that there is a variety of spaces that the people can either be involved or not, as per the occasion and mood demand.  This project essentially thus converts the path of the user as the structural element in design to provide the context of connection between the existing formal corridors into interactive “in-between zones “for the various users.
