With increasing unpredictability of rainfall and neglected traditional network of canals, nalas, and water-bodies, the slums in the low lying areas of Bhuj face a high risk of localized flooding and inundation. To make the city resilient equity perspective has been adopted and the issues of slums have been addressed through strategic project formulation. Flood resilience has been attempted with a priority-driven approach which is expected to create a clean environment apart from providing safe public housing in slums.
