“A Transit Village is a typology of TOD which aims to create a predominantly residential suburban center which is centered around a transit station, reinforced by mixed-use affordable neighborhoods around.”The township was designed with two distinct characters, an "active core" and a "tranquil core" that unite at the strategic multi-modal transit node. The entire fabric is held together with a network of public open spaces, pedestrian trails, and bicycle lanes.The integration of transit patterns with the public open spaces and residential neighborhoods is the key to the successful design of the transit village.
