A journey to liberal approach to planning

The development in the fringes of Indian cities usually does not happen in an orderly manner. Even though we are moving towards compact cities, it is important to manage the growth in the peri urban-rural areas with high development potential. Gujarat has a history of success of Town Planning scheme implementations even for major urban projects like the SP ring road. This portfolio reflects attempts made to find a liberal approach throughout with the aim to provide EQUITY to dissolve apprehension caused by the planning process and respect the LOCAL TOPOGRAPHY. It is a case of East Gandhinagar, in IIT's vicinity.
