Agro-Industrial Livelihood at edge of Rurban Development

Lying in the outskirts, to the South of Ahmedabad is the proposed site of Hathijan abound with lush green fields, river Khari and with two important highways of national importance. The vision of the studio was to deliver a smart sustainable town planning development model through an evidence based participatory approach. With the belief ,that Local planning schemes are a key tool in implementing the city's development vision on the whole, the experimentation of  identifying right type of development model in greenfield area where the past planning attempts failed to achieve the development it aimed at was the biggest challenge. To enliven this area, an agro-based economic model was framed with a strategic implementation framework, thus proving it to be the best evident approach towards the particular context. The crucial part was to achieve equity through a choice based liberal quantitative analysis ,which then proved the feasibility of successful implementation for the AUDA 2022 master-plan vision.
