Greenfield Micro Scale Planning : TP Scheme for Hathijan

This Studio introduced us to numerous aspects and components of Micro Planning Development Models. We began with understanding some of these practiced in India and abroad Detailed Case Study helped us understand the pros, cons, and consequences of their post-implementation. I took up the greenfield city of Naya Raipur and compared its development model with that of Amravati. Thus began the first step towards understanding the approach to Micro Planning for Greenfield areas in cities. The First Iteration introduced us to the villages of Hathijan - Geratnagar. From the Existing Situation Analysis, it was assessed that the area had the scope of developing as a sub-regional node on South East, on the periphery of Ahmedabad city. In the group work, I tried to develop a strong base emphasizing the need for our project proposals, which we envisaged as very strong development triggers for the project area. This was done based on case studies, project-specific scenarios in Ahmedabad and assessing possible catchment areas of individual projects. Overall, this portfolio is a narrative of my understanding of Measures to develop Greenfield Areas through TP Schemes, learned this semester.
