Hathijan and Geratnagar-Town Planning Scheme

A Town Planning Scheme is a key moment in the whole process of urban development where it is possible to control and design the desired urban conditions and time the urban growth leading to the coherent urban form. If the planner has a vision of a desired urban form in mind, this mechanism is a very effective means of realizing the ends. In Gujarat, urban development in terms of Town Planning Schemes has been carried out as early as 1917 A.D., It has a history of a successful town planning scheme implementation like TP schemes around SP ring road. This portfolio is a reflection of the efforts made by the authors to come up with an innovative Town planning scheme mechanism for Hathijan area in Ahmedabad.
