Local Area Plan of an Urban area in the suburbs - Bopal

“Urban Expansion and Regeneration Planning studio” focused on learning various statutory and nonstatutory microlevel planning mechanisms such as TPS, LAPs for CBD, TOD, Heritage, Smart City Area Based Development etc. They will also go beyond the conventional approaches to deliver plans that integrate multidisciplinary aspects to result in high quality environment. Under the guidance of my studio faculty, I am able to summarise my observations, analysis and understanding of the Studio through - - Preparation of implementable microlevel plan, which go beyond conventional statutory plans, and which are not only focused on implementing a vision to create livable, wellserved, high quality urban environments but are also aimed to make the implementation economically viable for both the land owners and the authorities. - Detailed case studies to, understand various microlevel planning mechanisms of land pooling (e.g. TPS), and incentive based redevelopment/conservation (e.g. LAP) for a more justifiable and equitable distribution of benefits & costs. The publication is about the Local Area Plan of an urban area in the Subburbs, i.e., Bopal in Ahmedabad.
