DEPLOYABLE EXHIBITION SPACE

The exhibition Structure (having two components) is large enough to accommodate 28 stalls, each one having ample area to exhibit paintings & art pieces. The structure is designed in such a way that it can be used several times and is handy to transport, assemble and disassemble. The entire space is designed in order to produce vertical obstruction-free space. The final design proposed is the triangulated, origami-inspired frame structure movable only along X- direction, accompanied by a fabric within its frames. Restricted by guided roller supports. The opening provided at both ends. This design consists of a Triangular fold at equal distance and at different heights. This design is inspired by the X-form of origami fold. Different variations in the grid pattern and along with the distribution of one-fold into three folds were explored and implemented. After a certain degree of evolution in the design, in order to achieve deployable space going hand in hand with practicality was finalized. In order to produce Structure, drawings were drafted keeping in mind its use and practicality of utmost importance, which at the end of the day is feasible w.r.t. Human size. The model is scaled in 1:10 proportion. The Structure is Fully deployable in the Span of 14m long.
