The studio unit intends to plan and design such structures by proper choice of forms, materials, appropriate structural system, analyzing and designing the structure and working out the construction details for the same. Students will form their own project brief, and will explore to suggest unique optimized solution for such structures.Students will come up with different forms to cover a certain parking space - inspired by nature.Initial input will be based on behavioral aspects, concepts and components of steel structures, learnt through model making and testing. Second part of the studio will cover analysis, design and detailing aspects of some basic structural systems along with software exposure. In final stage of studio, students will analyze, design, document and prepare detailed fabrication drawings of the project along with trial models. Selected model will be executed as real free space covering structure.
