PILOT PROJECT AND LIVE RESIDENTIAL PROJECT, AHMEDABAD

Integrated Construction Practices studio makes use of Lean Principles and Building Information Modelling concepts to give an insight into the interspersed practices followed in the industry and its application on field. The project our group dealt with was a residential tower and in such projects there are numerous factors that govern the speed and pace of work such as the sale of the apartments. So the challenges were many to implement the integrated practices. The studio commenced with the selection of scope for the BIM model, after which roles were established to each group member. The integration of all members on this project, even for a limited scope, broadened our understanding of possible real?time challenges that actual stakeholders come across on such projects. Revit modelling was a whole new experience where in each of the models were prepared and overlaid and detected for clashes. The shortcomings of it were eventually resolved through collaborative efforts with the help of Big Room meetings.
