This Art Gallery at Udaipur focuses on the nature of gallery being a space of isolation where one feels immersed in the world of the artists and disconnected from the context. The program prioritizes the relation of the built with the land. The entire project is slightly sunken below the ground level, to create a more inward looking, courtyard centric environment. The porous spaces towards the lakes are separated by two sunken courtyards from the introverted galleries tucked within the mound. The level of enclosures gradually increases as one traverses within the project.
