Bharuch-Ankleshwar Urban Development Plan 2031

The Development plan studio is structured in three iterative learnings. To start, the foundation studio precinct study was taken as a base to understand the various urban components. Further elaborated by analyzing and comparing national vs international city development plans. Altogether various exercises helped the preparation of Development Plan for Bharuch-Ankleshwar Urban Development area [BAUDA] in a group of four. The existing situation and trend-based scenario encouraged non-conventional planning methodology. Learning of business trends and evolving requirements of people combined the idea of urban innovation, human networks and the environment.

A city can be defined as an overlapping layers of functional, psychological and agglomerative patterns. To understand urban planning, foundation studio study is taken as a base to visualize urban mechanism. An analytical study of the strength, weakness and issues within the precinct is addressed with short and long term proposals.

Bharuch is a major sea port in the important pre-compass coastal trading routes towards west. To understand the development pattern, a comparative study of port cities Visakhapatanam & Toronto Development Plan is done.

BAUDA is a twin city Urban Development Authority under which Bharuch and Ankleshwar cities are joined to develop in a planned manner so that the future urban issues of being close to each other can be dealt efficiently, as there will be a single Planning and Development Authority which will shape both the cities.
