Liberalised Regulations: Promoting Inclusive Development

This portfolio is a compilation of the work done as part of the Development Plan Studio (Spring semester 2019).
The exercise involved a group of sixteen students analysing the urban areas of Surat; further, groups of four students worked separately on preparing the DPs, based on their findings and unique approach.
A liberal approach was adopted whereby the FSI cap was entirely eliminated. The final proposals were an outcome of an iterative process of macro- and micro-level analysis. Another unique feature of this proposal is the character analysis of 1 sq km blocks throughout the development area.
