The Development Plan Studio was structured in three parts. Introductory section being the continuation of the exercise from previous semester “Understanding the City - Ahmedabad” , to understand the scale and context. The section also included case studies of Development Plans of cities across the world. In the next stage the Development Plans from Indian cities were compared to the foreign cities. The second section introduced us to the project city “Rajkot”. A detailed study was carried out to understand the existing situation and analyse it. This included various site visits, meetings with key stakeholders and household surveys. Next section focussed on proposing the ‘Plan’ on the basis of existing situation analysis. The proposal included Road Network, Zoning and DCR, project proposals.
