Rajkot Development Plan 2041

The development plan studio is a series of weekly exercises carried out during spring’19 semester-2 of urban planning master’s program at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. The following work is structured on the basis of various cities divided amongst students in a group of 4. The portfolio work will showcase the study of city Rajkot and Development Plan urban components. Rajkot, Gujarat is the 35th Largest urban agglomeration in India, with population of more than 1.8 million [census 2018]. It is one of the fastest growing city of India [7th at the position] is divided into 3 zones and consists of 23 wards under RMC. The Rajkot Urban Development Authority is a civilian government body, responsible for overseeing and sanctioning construction and infrastructure development across the city of Rajkot. The portfolio work is structured on the study and analysis of development plan urban components and the process of formation of the city’s statutory plan. The studio’s final outcome is to showcase the final Development Plan, envisioned for the year 2041. The contextual chapters are constructed based on urban planning expects of the city Rajkot. Different layers and process of planning is used to provide an environmentally oriented Development Plan for Rajkot by considering control regulations, proposals and costing for the same.
