This essay tries to trace the streetscape of Panjara pol that has transformed and evolved since the 1880s when the city of Ahmedabad came under British rule. This diversity is directly reflected in the streets of Panjra pol through their activities throughout the year. The transition spaces are one of the interesting features of the street, as they were not an intended design but an organic evolution as a result of associated events and developments. Different factors have been looked, to find how the streetscape of Panjra pol housed a diversified activity for the people of pol and the visitors.
