The study aims to streamline disaster management guidelines for state protected monuments of Maharashtra with the help of national and international guidelines. This is necessary to ensure that the places of cultural significance are safeguarded for the people to engage with and to pass onto future generations the values that heritage divulge. It is hoped that this study and the guidelines derived will inform the practitioners, state authorities and the public about the importance of disaster management of cultural sites and the importance of heritage and its significance.
