Site is situated in the rural belt at the outskirts of Ahmedabad district of Gujrat. Owners of the plots put up away in city. They have allowed the nearby farmer- families to use the land for farming purpose after proper tillage. Farming Enterprise: To make it a bit of enterprise, the farmers have chosen to cultivate mainly cash crops adopting organic farming methodology to fetch better returns from health conscious metropolitan population who are their prospective buyers. Farmers are growing & cultivating vegetables and fruits, which can be naturally grown in the given climate in this area of Gujrat State. Innovative Methods of Cultivation: By the use of innovative methods viz. “Low tunnels”, “Green Sheds” and “Drip Irrigation” they make maximum use of natural resources and continually make effort to enhance the yield. In mixed cultivation matrix they are also growing flowers for utilizing the huge demand of flowers in the city. Animal Husbandry: To add to the self- containment, they also maintain activity of animal husbandry. Most of the farmers are having “Tharparkar” breed of cows. They have installed tube-wells to give an aqua- backup to their farms. For controlled utilization of sunlight their taller trees are planted on south-west side of their fields. Land has the optimum utilization.
