A Replaced Forest

Montane/ shola grasslands, semi-evergreen, Dry deciduous, Southern western ghats, Mudumalai range (Kurangani reserve)
This project investigates the unique shola grassland and forest ecosystem of Palani hills. The study was done through the lens of a personal interpretation that identifies the changes these forests have undergone due by human interventions. The fragile shola grasslands are perceived and considered as wastelands , and is now invaded by exotic species and replaced by plantations of many kinds. The journey is an introspection into the idea of these replaced forests. The pause points denote places where one can see this aspect clearly unfolding .
