The brief was to design a home for a family of three who had come back from Japan to settle in Udaipur. The mother had an interest for pickle making. Ten years later, an extension to the house is proposed, with the pickle making hobby expanding to a small business venture.
The home was perceived as a reprieve from the busy Udaipur streets, placed right at the edge of the lake. The house then expands to a cooperative. The project is imagined as two separate entities of a residence and cooperative, each catering to a different part of the family's life.
