Building Product Design for Outdoor Spaces

To Identify, Design, and Develop building products for outdoor spaces and its functioning to arrive at the need-based functional products which facilitate the user and their need.

Identify the need and the design opportunity to develop a new product or redesign the existing product to improve its function, design, and expectations of the user.

Students will be introduced to use product design considerations and structured design processes to be able to apply them while designing the products.

Explore the potential of design with the elements of System thinking.
The design and detail development be able to translate the idea into a tangible product a prototype and manufacture them.

The aspects of the product, product graphics, and user expectations with market feedback.

User feedback and product validation.
The studio will be formed in four groups.
Each group to focus on one specific product and its segment of products.

Group – A Design Lighting Product
Group – B Design Product related to Parking / Parking Space
Group – C Design Canopy
Group – D* Design product that replaces the building/construction component.

Note*: We will only allow students in Group D who will have promising need identification.
