Design Story museum

‘Design story’ is a museum, which celebrates the evolving world of Indian design from the beginning to the present and the upcoming future. It is situated in Ahmedabad, a city that hosts different institutions. ‘Design’ as a term, was not a part of the Indian vocabulary. Though things have changed, and now, the need of the hour is to understand the term ‘Indian design’ and connect people with it, in order to create a better understanding and experience of Indian design. The museum is constructed within an abandoned industrial building, making it the blank canvas for the new museum. Reusing this building shows aspects of retaining the heritage, and the collaborative nature of the old with the new; similar to the diverse culture and heritage of Ahmedabad within the greater Indian culture, which is created due to multiple connection intersections at multiple levels. The design also harbors collaborative ways within multiple fields of study, creating multiple connections within it. Multi-levels that are connected to design, inspire the idea - to have multi-level movements within the site, which is connected with a central element that showcases the character of the design
