Grid Shell Stool

Study is based on the principle of grid shell structures through various projects such as Japan Pavilion Expo 2000 by Frei Otto Sir. Exercise has begun with case study and by applying the same principle, stool has been design. Aim was to work with structural members which could also be utilize as a seating space. In order to explore the structure, the required material should be flexible enough, which allows the bending movement. Thus, material selected for this purpose was cane strips of 10-15mm x 3-4mm. With help of various sections of cane strips, making of stool is possible.
