Facilities Management in a Corporate Framework

Gail Gaon is an Industrial township setup by GAIL (India) Ltd in 1996 to supplement housing to the workforce of petrochemical plant. Spread across the area of one-hundred-twelve hectare, the township marks for adequate living space with open areas, pedestrian pathways, and protected surroundings for the employees of GAIL and their families. It is divided into twenty-five subdivisions- “Kunjs”, which have approximately one-thousand-two-hundred dwelling units.
The Facilities Management in Gail Gaon is subjected to a rigid Corporate Framework. This study sets out to highlight the same with reference to the Assets and Amenities, Service Provision, and overall Governance of the area. On these lines, the study is an attempt to derive solutions for an efficient Facilities Management through intrusions of technology that are sensitive to Environment and are driven to improve the quality of life. The primary approach is to critically analyze an aspect from a perspective of Urban Management followed by giving the best possible solution for the "Areas of Improvement".
