Private Housing Redevelopment at Ambawadi, Ahmedabad

The mandate of the Housing Project Studio is to gain exposure to the dynamic housing and real estate market and propose the highest and best use of the chosen land parcel. Based on variation in terms of predominant land use, location, accessibility, and market conditions, I eventually chose a brownfield land private housing redevelopment project at Ambawadi, Ahmedabad. Negotiations with stakeholders are crucial while working out the financial feasibility of a redevelopment project. To ensure regular inflow throughout the overall project the activity schedule is phased based on the Local Area Plan such that within a phase the blocks of a particular building typology get executed from start to finish making them available for sales. Sustainability, ecology, and anthropology as the new paradigm are imminent in contending with the disruption caused by the outbreak of the virus. Such an approach as the ethos will help developers create value in building resilience and establishing their standing in the market while prudently mitigating risks. Having studied the macro and micro market dynamics thoroughly an implementable project with adherence to all existing regulations and policies has been worked out and the interrelationship between the real estate sector and the existing site situation has been hopefully understood and analyzed via this academic project.
