Articulating the Organicity of Trivandrum

Trivandrum being the capital of Kerala, is the most populous city due to the concentration of various institutions. The city is a captivating blend of rooted heritage and colonial legacy and is referred to as the ‘Evergreen City of India’ due to its vast tree cover and is also characterized by undulating terrain of low coastal hills. A 1 sq.km area (precinct) is selected to study about the various factors that have shaped the city. The precinct is located 0.2 km from the city centre which helps in understanding the quality of life within the city due to its proximity to the busy city centre. The publication represents the culmination of semester long efforts of data collection and analysis of the current scenario of the precinct. It describes the various aspects and methodologies that were used for analysis. The theme of the publication is "Articulating the Organicity of Trivandrum" as inspite of  being urbanized, the city has kept its organic character intact.
