Traits of Medieval core of the city

‘Understanding the City’ Studio which is a part of the Foundation Course of Masters of Urban Planning at the Faculty of Urban Planning, CEPT University. The 1 square kilometer study area, Ashok Stambh is the core area of Nashik. This Core area is located on the bank of river Ganga-Godavari dividing city into two parts. This core area has been studies to understand the fabric, network, choices of people to be visiting or permanent. Ashok Stambh has the most famous public space known as Ramkund is also studied to understand that a single important element can drive lakhs of people.
