The study aims to explore the potential of solar energy in compensating the energy (power) demand of an area which can be scaled to the city level power demand by looking at different scenarios. 'Building units' both private and public is taken as the prototype for the implementation of Renewable Energy strategies and retrofitting through energy efficient strategies. An important scenario can be making both "Active and Passive solar energy measures" a part of the planning mechanism so that energy sector which has always been seen in silos can be integrated strategically aimed at increasing solar energy use.
