Lighting and Integrated Design Lab

This course developed an understanding of the principles of daylighting and electrical lighting. Daylighting and electric lighting solutions for building energy efficiency were evaluated. The whole building design exercise was to integrate learning from the past three semesters to evaluate the enhance the performance of a hospital building. In this exercise daylight evaluation, design, and simulation of passive strategies from climate analysis and low energy cooling systems were carried out. To understand the economic aspect of energy efficiency, the LCCA of different energy conservation measures were carried out.
