Designing an Administration Building

The studio started by introducing the material, its usage, importance, and different types brick bonding followed by a case study that focused on structural as well as architectural aspect. Various building elements were then introduced defining its role in structures. The aim of the final exercise was to design an architecturally and structurally viable space for an administrative building and an attached community hall. Functional planning of a building is planning based on the principle that every element expresses its own function and altogether, the function of the building. Hence it includes various factors to be considered such as orientation of the building according to its location, space planning, with proper circulation space and linkage between rooms, lighting and ventilation.
