Thaltej gam has a large number of slum dwellers living in vicinity of its three lakes. These slums act as landing pads for migrated craftsmen. These craftsmen are always in search of new opportunities on one hand while struggling for livelihood on the other. One can always find them waiting at the ‘Nakas’ for work while having chai and gossip with their peers. Indeed these workers are the masons who will build the image of New Thaltej as an urban town that is booming with development and progress with great potential. An attempt to not only nurture but also fund and collaborate these crafts men will boost the inherent potential that lie waiting amongst this community. An appropriate infrastructure that assists the harnessing of this underlying potential is the real need of time.
