A place where artists, architects and students document their work, this documentation Lab primarily has four functions : the documentation space that allows photographing of models, sculptures and paintings; a dark room for developing photographs; a store room for camera equipment and models, and a scanning cabin with a reception. The concept evolved with the concern to create a space that offers an opportunity to document in different lighting conditions. The initial explorations through sections and study models helped in understanding the behaviour of light and dark spaces with modulation in the ground and the roof. A conscious effort was made to introduce natural light in the building so that it helps the users get a space with clean backgrounds and flushed natural light to photograph their work.
