Nowadays, the character of urban neighborhood life is changing due to interference of vehicular dominant transportation modes which have eaten up the street life. The upcoming metro proposal for Ahmedabad city has triggered ‘Transit-Oriented Development’ at many places and the intervention site is also one of them. So, the idea is to integrate TOD and neighborhood life to build an urban environment which is pedestrian friendly, offers safety and comfort for the commuters as well as introducing activity pockets to make the walk interesting. This proposal is to provide neighborhood life with active street life, walkability, commercial vicinity and ease of public transport.
