The first part of the studio involved case studies exploring the joinery and assembly details in structures of different materials and prototype models to get a hang of hands on work. The second part was selecting a joinery of your choice and translating the same into a different material such that the properties of the joinery remain the same. The third part constituted of designing a structure using that joinery. The final project here, is an invert bamboo truss. Clamps are designed on concept of friction joint in order to hold bamboo.
