The present site conditions hold a fruit market - a wholesale market designed on the one metre high plinth (ootla) which serves as the shop display zone and the vendor is also accomodated in the same space. A year is divided into different seasons and festivals. And shopping is an integral component of these events. Thereby, the design proposal is a shopping market catering to the needs of various seasons and festivals of the year. Also, the site is located in a crowded neighbourhood. And therefore the proposed intervention is also designed as a Pause space amongst the busy atmosphere ; a place to relax ; a place to rest ; a place of pause. It is an everchanging marketplace according to the season or festival.
