Locating - dislocated (Museum of cities)

For the project the site choosen is Sanskar Kendra built by Le Corbusier in Ahmedabad. The reason behind choosing this site is the scale of the building gives an opportunity to explore the Assembly based construction system in interior spaces. The proposed program for this site is a Museum of cities. As India has vast diversities in cities this space will portray Indian cities. The spatial name for the design is titled as Locating Dislocated. Where it can also be called as finding separated developing a concept of spatial experience inside the space. The idea is to create an experience of a city within through creating multiple volumes at different levels and connecting them through bridges and staircases as if one is travelling inside the city. From the learning of previous process and understanding concept of Kit of parts it is then further developed in designing the museum space. Understanding different materials and then it is explored in form of kit of parts to generate spatial experience and solving interior design problems such as floor system, staircases, railing, bridges, exhibition panels and lighting through following principles of assembly-based construction.
