Livelihood of Urban Poor

Urban poverty alleviation being one of the 18 functions of the urban local body, according to the twelfth schedule of 74th amendment act, it is important for the urban local body to perform the task for which the it needs to be financially sound. DAY-NULM would aim at universal coverage of all Urban poor for skill development and credit facilities. It will strive for skill training of Urban poor for market based jobs and self employment, facilitating easy access to credit. There are 6 components in DAY-NULM, of which 3 components are looked into in my project of Gandhinagar city.
