Solid Waste Management

On an average, 95 to 105 ton of waste is getting generated in Gandhinagar on a daily basis. Taking 95000 Kg (95 tons) as an assumption of waste generated by 2,08,299 of population, per capita generation of waste is 0.4 kg.  Considering 4.7 as an average household size (acc. to 2011 census), average waste generated from 1 household is 1.88 Kg. There are 6 kinds of wastes generated (Organic waste, Inorganic / recyclable waste, E-wast, Biomedical waste, C&D waste, Slaughter house waste). The waste is collected, transported, processed and finally disposed of at the landfill site.
