UTHAAN

This project aims to create and uplift the identity of the newly shifted women to Ambli in an attempt to reignite these women’s association with the gaam. The strategy for my project includes increasing social interaction among women through activities of interest and upliftment of women by giving them domestic independence and building better social connections. The idea was to develop a gathering area and a community garden for the newly shifted women in Ambli, to give them a sense of belongingness. Visiting the temple allows women to use this space without any family restrictions. Also a corresponding kid’s play area gives a holistic environment in which young mothers can enjoy the company of their friends and also take care of their friends and also take care of their interdependent user group. The intervention keeps the village involved at various levels be it collection of waste or developing pocket orchards or herbal plants for residential use.
