A Tale of Two Cities: Bharuch-Ankleshwar 2041

Bharuch-Ankleshwar, as many other cities, are a divided urban conglomeration. This urban divide is physically manifested as the result of a stratification of flooded silt amassing for decades on the banks of Narmada and was administered under two separate authorities until as recently as 2012 . Identified primarily as an industrial stronghold in the Indian state of Gujarat, their identities are cultivated around their relationship with this ecosystem.
The development approach here has been to cap, sustain and redirect industrial growth - within boundaries.
